An Act of Resistance & Humanity.
Three Events, Three Days, 507 Miles.
May 19th (Austin): Sister Event @ Still Austin Whiskey Co. 1pm-5pm. Emceed by honored anchor/reporter and author, Olga Campos Benz, the event will feature Atash, Kiko Villamizar, Tiarra Girls, Bamako Airlines, Leti Garza, and Grupo Massa
May 19th (San Antonio): The Buffalo Tree Team makes a final stop at the Burleson Yard Beer Garden from 7:30pm-9:30pm for a meet & mingle and a final donation pick-up en route to McAllen.
Folks are encouraged to bring donations of essential items and clothing (list below) to each event. Volunteers will be on hand to receive donated items and load them onto the #CareForTheCaravan truck to be delivered to migrants in need at the border near McAllen, TX.
Requested items include (new items only):
-Toiletries including deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, feminine hygiene products, etc
-Tennis shoes for men, women, children and infants of all sizes
-Clothes (pants, t-shirts, blouses, underclothing) for children and adults of all sizes
-Baby supplies for toddlers (diapers, baby wipes, baby bottles)
-Gift cards to purchase food items
-Resealable plastic bags (ziplock, etc)
-Jugs of water
May 20th (McAllen): #CareForTheCaravan arrives at the border
The two night #CareForTheCaravan events will work to amplify aid for the humanitarian crisis to those in need at the southern border. Essential items will be collected as well as monetary donations to be delivered to refugees and immigrants in need at the border near McAllen, TX.
